SOLD! Engel Gato sub hull only. (NOTE photos of completed model taken from Engel's site and do not represent the actual model. Photos of kit contents are of the actual model)

The Gato class was one of the most innovative weapon systems of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

The SS212 was one of three submarines of this class that were to be built by the Electric Boat Company at Groton, CT.

The model features clearly defined vent holes, minute deck fittings, including radar scanners, periscopes, anchor, handrails and guns. The conning tower as well as many of the fittings and all guns are cast in resin. The minute details of the model and its awesome 6 ½ foot length are more than impressive …

The hull unit is made of glass fibre.

Kit includes:
• Lower hull, upper hull, bulkhead and pressure proof compartment made of glass fibre
• Conning tower cast in resin
• Rudder and dive planes cast in resin
• Complete set of fittings cast in resin (very detailed!)
• Assembly drawings

Engel Typhoon kit, complete!

This kit is in new and unstarted condition. There is some packing tape on the hull that will need to be cleaned off, and the ballast weights will not ship due to the added weight. This is the previous generation offering from Engel without the scribed anechoic tiles.

Blueprints included.

As per the kit from OTW, this model includes the brass photo etched details and decking. Also included are the main deck guns.

The kit is in started condition and the laborious task of drilling and filing the flood holes has been completed already. Wooden bulkheads have been glassed into place and should be sealed prior to operation in water.

This is the limited edition Disney Nautilus by eFX. Each model measures approximately 48" in length and features LED lighting, a full wheelhouse and salon interior and a beautiful acrylic display stand.

This particular Nautilus model was refinished by me to add realistic rust and weathering along with optically lit alligator eyes. Not pictured is the acrylic display stand which is included in the price along with the original box and blueprint art.

New price (when they were available) was $1,600. They are going for over $1,800 on the market today.

SOLD! RPMTech Russian Kilo model in 1/72 scale (42.5" long). SOLD!

This model is completely assembled and painted. Unfortunately the acrylic ballast tube inside is cracked and will require replacing, but that's a great way to get to know your new boat.

RPMTech used a very ingenious piston/pump ballast system and the model is a real piece of engineering.

(NOTE: photo of the WTC is for general layout information and is not of the model's actual unit, however this Kilo's system is set up identically to the one pictured.)

SOLD!

SOLD! Scott Brodeen 48" Nautilus model.

This is one of Scott's test pulls for the eFX project that he worked on. The model is a very thin shell, perfect for static display, or for R/C with proper reinforcement. Black resin shell, not fiberglass.

The hull does have some voids and will require filling in some areas to get up to perfection again.

No others currently like it in existence other than the older Mason boats.

SOLD!

April 22, 2013

SOLD! Dutch Walrus class submarine kit in 1/50 scale (approximately 53" long).

Beautiful kit in brand new, unstarted condition.

The Walrus-class submarine is the only submarine class currently in operation in the Royal Netherlands Navy. They have been in service since 1990 and are all named after sea mammals. The Walrus-class submarines are unusual in that instead of a cross-shaped assembly of stern diving planes and rudders, they mount four combined rudders and diving planes in an "X" configuration.

SOLD!!

April 22, 2013

Ray Mason Disney Nautilus in 1/43 scale (51" long). SOLD!

This is one of the extremely rare Ray Mason Nautilus hulls. They feature beautiful and accurate detailing, including thousands of rivets.

This particular version has been designed for R/C use and already has the hull split created. It has had a few things started, but is basically fresh, though certainly has some years on it.

SOLD!

April 22, 2013

SOLD! Very rare Disney Nautilus from Germany (40" in length).

This is an exceptionally rare Nautilus model created by a craftsman in Germany. Only a handful were ever produced, and this is a perfect example. Great detailing. Hull is a solid piece, but I don't think there should be any issue in cutting it open for R/C use.

SOLD!

April 22, 2013

SOLD! William Babington 81.5" long Disney Nautilus model.

One of the rare examples of Will's huge Nautilus project. This model is already joined and is one solid piece. Great detailing, though there are some bubbles in some of the rivets and some chipped resin due to the model's age. Still very easily worked into a display or R/C model. Not pictured is the wheelhouse.

No other detail pieces available. Just the hull and wheelhouse included.

SOLD!!!

SOLD!!

Ray Mason Disney Nautilus in 1/43 scale (51" long).

This is one of the extremely rare Ray Mason Nautilus hulls. They feature beautiful and accurate detailing, including thousands of rivets.

This particular version has been designed for R/C use and already has the hull split created. It has had a few things started, but is basically fresh, though certainly has some years on it. Some of the rear details have broken loose and need to be re-attached, but its otherwise in great shape.

Also includes a hardwood carry/shipping crate.

SOLD!!

April 22, 2013

SOLD! (Check my Project section for the buildup of this model into R/C!) Ray Mason Disney Nautilus in 1/43 scale (51" long).

This is one of the extremely rare Ray Mason Nautilus hulls. They feature beautiful and accurate detailing, including thousands of rivets.

This particular version is a single piece hull and includes all of the detail pieces needed for completion. Rakers have been attached, however it is basically in new condition. A really beautiful example of these rare boats!

SOLD!

April 22, 2013

Stan Sanders Nautilus! This beast measures over 90" in length. Hand laid fiberglass hull with detail pieces included. The hull is bare and ready for detailing by the builder.

Another rare example of Nautilus lore. Would make a perfect R/C or static display boat.

Asking $850 plus actual shipping charges.

April 22, 2013

SOLD! William Babington Nautilus (about 81.5" long when complete).

These are just the two hull halves and the wheelhouse for the model. All other detail parts will need to be built or sourced by the builder. Cast in top and bottom halves.

Beautiful and huge!

SOLD!!!

Russian Typhoon in 1:100 scale.

This particular project was obtained from a gentleman who had spend years putting the kit together, however found he didn't have a venue that would allow him to operate it easily.
The care and attention that he put into the build is evident and I took great pride in completing the project for him.

It is based off of the Masterscale Typhoon kit from Engel out of Germany. With exchange rates and shipping, the landed cost for the kit here in the US would have been near $3000US, just for the parts.

The model comes with a 10 channel radio system, TMAX dive system and features many upgrades over the stock kit including full LED lighting in the dry hull for easy maintenance, magnetic on/off switches for both the receiver and main power, and much more. It also comes with a hardwood display base as well as a PVC launch cradle for pondside operation and retrieval. All of the original plans and instruction booklets are also included.

This model is a true beast and I am guessing it weighs in at around 70lbs. My testing at a local pond proved it to be a great performer on and under the water.

This project is for sale. Asking price is $4,500 obo, plus shipping costs.

I'm open to offers, so don't hesitate to let me know if you're interested!
